HIGH TECH HIGH GRADUATE SCHOOL OF EDUCATION
Teacher Apprenticeship Program
In Year One, I participated in an immersive student teaching experience in an 8th grade Humanities and Math class in order to obtain a California Multiple Subject Teaching Credential. In Year Two, I will build on this foundation, earning an M.Ed. in Teaching & Learning while working as the teacher of record in a local school. Throughout the program, I will have extensive opportunities to practice and reflect on my teaching through personalized projects which integrate theory and practice.
I will learn how to design equitable learning environments which provide access and challenge to all learners through deeper learning and culturally responsive pedagogies.
2002 - 2005
UCLA EXTENSION
Foundation Level Certificate in Interior Design

In this program I explored the history of environmental arts, fundamentals of interior architecture in both commercial and residential interiors, color theory and more. I learned how to use and was a Teaching Assistant helping other students learn ArchiCAD (a widely used computer drafting program). Through several classes skills for freehand drawing and drafting to communicate design concepts were developed. The program covered a diverse curriculum providing essential skills for working in the field of residential, hospitality, and commercial design.

UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA LOS ANGELES
Bachelor of Arts in Art History

By thinking across current categories and boundaries and critically interrogating art history itself, I was encouraged to question the canon, to rethink the relationships between margins and centers, and to practice a socially and politically responsible art history. Courses included Pre-Columbian Meso-American Art, Chicanx Art, Art of the French Revolution, 20th Century Architecture, Art of Ancient China, Spanish and Italian language courses, and more.
